We deal with an immense amount of imagery in our daily lives, as our consciousness is flooded by pictures from the Internet, TV etc. How does this glut of information affect our memory and our perception of time and events?
Beate Frommelt works with images she finds which pique her interest or have a special meaning for her. She chooses certain elements or details and draws them. Through the process of drawing and repetition she adopts the image, makes it her own and changes the perception of time as she slows down the image flood.
This process may be continued during the exhibition by adding new drawings or rearranging them under different aspects. Her focus lies on the five topics of archipelago, work, paradise, time, outside.
